Tamil Nadu Heritage & Coast
A living-heritage route from Chennai and Mahabalipuram to Puducherry, Chola country, Chettinad and Madurai.

A calm coastal pause of heritage streets, cafés, spiritual spaces and sea air—ideal between Chennai and Tamil Nadu’s temple route.
Puducherry works best as a mood rather than a long sightseeing list. Walk the heritage quarter early, explore Tamil neighbourhoods and markets, enjoy a considered meal, and leave space for the promenade, Auroville or a quiet resort outside town.
Central streets can be busy on weekends. We choose accommodation for walkability, parking access and the atmosphere you want—not only the room category.
This is a planning sequence, not a fixed package. We may shorten, reverse or split it around flights, season and your preferred pace.

One night gives a glimpse, but two nights allows a full day without rushing and makes room for Auroville or a slower coastal stay.
Choose the heritage quarter for walkability and atmosphere, or a beachside property outside the centre for more space and a quieter resort experience.
It is possible, but an overnight stay is far more rewarding and avoids spending most of the day on the road.
